Erin's Biography

Erin Cohen, LCSW-R specializes in the treatment of eating disorders and body image issues for adolescent and adult women and has clinical experience in individual, family and group therapy. She also provides support to women struggling with infertility issues, mothers dealing with parenting struggles, adjusting to motherhood for the first time or while expanding their families, and those suffering from postpartum depression and anxiety. She favors an empathic and supportive approach which integrates psychodynamic and psychoanalytic techniques in order to help clients, not only reduce symptoms, but to also explore and understand the underlying issues of their eating disorder and related issues or other current life struggles. Erin believes in helping clients identify their strengths to enable them to overcome these issues and tailors treatment to meet each person's individual needs.

Ms. Cohen received her BSW from SUNY Stony Brook and her MSW from New York University’s Advanced Standing Program. She worked and trained at Peninsula Counseling Center on Long Island, Staci Leavitt Mind & Body, Inc on Long Island, and The Renfrew Center of New York as a psychotherapist before establishing a private practice in NYC. She is currently a member of the National Association of Social Workers, the Golden Key National Honor Society and The National Eating Disorders Association.
