In addition to her practice of pediatric pulmonology, Dr. Leistner also evaluates and treats common pediatric conditions such as acne, ADD, colic, colds and pharyngitis, eczema, enuresis, gastroesophageal reflux, constipation and obesity. She emphasizes the well being of each patient instead of treating isolated symptoms. As part of this holistic approach she incorporates a traditional university hospital pediatric care with integrative medicine including acupuncture, medical aroma therapy, stress reduction, nutrition, weight loss and family lifestyle choices. Acupuncture utilizing magnets, essential oils and laser stimulation is available as an alternative to traditional needles. Her holistic approach is especially useful to strengthen the immune system, to treat disorders related to stress such as tics, abdominal pain and headaches and to achieve and maintain good health.
