Strength

Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to think of having hope and instantly get it? Wouldn’t it be nice to dream about having courage and you suddenly feel brave and fearless? It would be great to rip off the word strength and suddenly feel like you can overcome anything. In my practice I have been trying to inspire others to have the courage to continue or the strength to know that the hard times will pass. However, clients often describe feeling uninspired at times and do not believe they have the capability to be optimistic and have patience. It is a challenge to accept that things will not get better overnight, and some days, my clients describe feeling like they are at war with themselves and it is a battle to make it through the day without breaking down. During these times I remind my clients of STRENGTH. Having the physical strength to hold yourself up and walk around. Having the emotional strength to work through your struggles and the tough times. We all have some level of physical strength, however I think many of us constantly have to work at having inner strength. The strength to be patient, the strength to have faith, the strength to believe things will get better. One of my favorite quotes about strength is from Gandhi…”Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will.” We must have the will to continue. We must find the strength. How do you get your strength?
