Childbirth Education

This two-week childbirth education class series is designed to prepare expectant mothers and their partners for labor, birth, and the immediate postpartum period. Promoting birth as a normal physiological process, these classes offer a down-to-earth but comprehensive approach to understanding all aspects of the labor and delivery experience.
Topics covered include information on the physiology and stages of labor, relaxation and movement, coping strategies and productive labor positions, discussion of medical interventions and pain management options, cesarean prevention, postpartum care and breastfeeding. We also focus on the physical and emotional factors that impact a laboring woman and help develop support strategies for partners. Videos and other visuals enhance the learning experience, and an open format that encourages discussion ensures that couples leave the class feeling well-informed and confident.
Classes are limited to a small number of couples, fostering a sense of community and connection that often continues beyond the class.
