Full Circle Women’s Health

Primary Care With Certified Nurse Midwives

Most women know that certified nurse midwives care for women during labor and birth and some know that we also care for women’s gynecological needs. However, even fewer women know that certified nurse midwives also provide basic primary care services for women of all ages. In fact, primary care is actually the heart and soul of midwifery care. Midwives strive to empower women and provide them with the knowledge they need to live full and healthy lives, not just during pregnancy and the immediate postpartum period, but throughout the lifespan—and it’s never more evident than at Full Circle Women’s Health.

The certified nurse midwives at Full Circle Women’s Health use an integrative approach to primary care and blend the best of allopathic and alternative medicine to suit your lifestyle and personal needs. This integrative approach includes herbal and homeopathic remedies, appropriate antibiotic and analgesic remedies, and referrals for mind/body work, stress management, and exercise. Evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment are an intrinsic part of our care, and we are licensed to write prescriptions and referrals for lab and diagnostic testing, as well as to provide annual physicals and immunizations.

Midwives take a holistic approach

Primary care is more than treating an occasional bladder infection. Prevention and wellness continue to be the most important part of our care at Full Circle Women’s Health. Appointments are centered on making sure that dietary needs, exercise goals, and spiritual needs are being met. For Full Circle Women’s Health midwives, wellness does not only mean a yearly blood test to check for cholesterol levels or referral for mammography, but a presentation of options and supportive practices that lead to optimal health.

We are the only midwifery service in Westchester County currently offering onsite breast thermography as an adjunct to breast cancer evaluation and prevention as well as bone density testing for evaluation of bone health. We support the use of integrative therapies, such as herbal and dietary supplements, as well as regular exercise to help to prevent and treat osteoporosis.

Traditionally, primary care involves screenings to detect disease in its early stages. While we offer those screenings, Full Circle Women’s Health strives to help you prevent the development of imbalance and illness, rather than just identify and fight disease once it has occurred. We look forward to being your partner in health and wellness.
