Jen's Biography

Jen's calling to the world of childbirth was inspired by the life-altering births of her two daughters, and the overwhelming support she received from her midwives and doulas during her pregnancies, births, and beyond. She received her childbirth educator certification from the Childbirth Education Association, and is certified as a labor doula by Doulas of North America (DONA). Jen has been attending births in hospitals, birth centers and homes for the last 10 years and is comfortable in and familiar with all three settings. She recognizes that when a woman is knowledgeable about the options available to her during pregnancy, labor and birth, and when she is well-supported physically and emotionally, she increases her chances of having a positive birth experience. Acknowledging that everyone's approach to childbirth is intensely personal, her philosophy encourages women to make informed decisions about their care and the care of their babies based on their own individual needs and preferences. Jen's educational series presents comprehensive, fact-based information in an open, non-judgmental environment that welcomes questions, comments and discussion. She feels very blessed to be able to serve families at this most incredible time in their lives.
