Kate's Biography

Kate Gardner, MS, RD is a registered dietitian and culinary nutritionist specializing in weight management, womens health (including fertility, pregnancy, breastfeeding and aging), and medical nutrition therapy. She received her master’s degree in Nutrition and Exercise Physiology and is currently pursuing her PhD. Her research is in New York City school gardens and explores what successful gardens are doing, how they achieve success, and how they become institutionalized in schools.
Kate’s passion is improving the food environment through locally sourced food, sustainable agriculture, and education for empowerment. Knowledgeable in whole foods and vitamins for optimal health and wellness, she enjoys counseling and educating clients while creating individualized plans based on each client’s needs, desires and personal goals. She currently counsels patients at her office in Darien, CT and here at Full Circle.
In addition to counseling, she has been a featured expert in print media, creates recipes for various organizations, and has hosted hundreds of cooking demonstrations. Kate's first cookbook, to be published by Barnes and Noble in 2015, provides seasonal recipes using whole, unprocessed ingredients for people with diabetes.
